Meeting Point

Sie sind hier: Home English Version Meeting Point

The Meeting Point forms part of the RPC´s social centre. Its objective is to provide a wide variety of possibilities for contacts among patients and other residents. Participation in the cultural and educational activities as well as entertainment should help patients find a way out of their illness and into active management of their own lives.

Encounters with other human beings and their problems make it possible for people to try out new forms of interaction and to pick up ideas for new and different leisure time activities.

Many-sided contacts and a targeted assortment of activities contribute to the overcoming of deficits. The running and seasonal programmes enable patients better to participate in social life.
The Meeting Point rests on three main pillars:

Cultural programme:
Concerts, cabaret, dance, cinema, current cultural activities in the region, seasonal holidays/celebrations.
Adult education:
Speciality lectures by experts in fields such as travel, environmental protection, solar energy,
astronomy, and others;
Excursions, e.g. to an observatory;
Documentary films;
Sight-seeing, hikes, tours..
Entertainment:
Disco, sports, tournaments, live football telecasts, own design.
Special events are put on regularly for the homes as well as for the forensic and geronto-psychiatric areas. Some of the patients concerned require an especially sheltered environment. These events take place weekly, in close co-operation with the wards and houses involved, and feature culture and education as well as board and physically active games.

Each year the Meeting Point organises a six-week summer programme which includes workshops for sailing, hiking, art projects, climbing, cycling, riding, excursions, etc..

A fixed component of each year´s programme is the annual theatre workshop and the annual theatre project¾followed by public performances..

The editorial staff of the patients´ magazine "Die Bodenseemöwe" (Bodensee = Lake of Konstanz; Möwe = gull) meet each Tuesday at 1830 hours in the patients´ library. Patients and other residents prepare articles, texts, poems, photos, and drawings for the magazine, which appears at regular intervals. Senior members of our personnel accompany the production of "Die Bodenseemöwe".

A patients´ library forms part of the Meeting Point and is accessible during regular opening hours .
